# How to connect BizMachine in Claude

How to add the BizMachine connector in Claude for the whole organization (admin step) and connect it to your own account (user step).

*Updated: 5 October 2026*

This guide shows you how to connect the BizMachine MCP connector (formerly the AI connector) to Claude (claude.ai), or to Claude Code. Once connected, Claude queries your BizMachine workspace directly. It works with verified company data, with your labels and with AI Prioritization, not with what the model finds on the web or makes up.

Connecting has two steps:

1. **An administrator** adds the BizMachine connector to the organization once.
2. **Each user** connects BizMachine to their own account and signs in to BizMachine.

> For what the connector can and cannot do yet, see the [overview of the connector](/en/mcp-connector/mcp-connector-overview.md).

***

### What do you need?

* **A Claude account.** Step 1 (adding the connector for the whole organization) needs a plan with organization administration, that is, **Claude Team or Enterprise**, and the administrator role.
* **A BizMachine account** with access to the workspace you want to connect to.
* We recommend a capable model. We tested it with Sonnet 4.6.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Don't connect the connector to free accounts or weak models.** It will technically connect, but a weak model can't work with an MCP server properly and will likely make up data. BizMachine doesn't support that kind of setup.
{% endhint %}

> **An individual Claude Pro account?** You add the connector yourself in **Settings** -> **Connectors** -> **Add** (top right) -> **Add custom connector**. Continue with step 2 of Part 1. The rest of the guide is the same.

***

### Part 1 - for the administrator: add the BizMachine connector

You only need to do this step once. The connector is then offered to all members of the organization, and each of them then only needs to connect it (Part 2).

#### 1. Open the organization's connectors

Click your avatar in the top right corner and select **Organization settings**, then open **Connectors** (direct link: [claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors](https://claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors)). Click **+ Add**, select **Custom** and then **Web**.

![The Add menu in the Claude connector settings with Custom and Web selected](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-005ce80d94a98669c584a1a0ea2295a6d5a135d7%2Fconnecting-claude-admin-add-custom.png?alt=media)

#### 2. Fill in the details and add the connector

In the **Add custom connector** window, fill in:

| Field | Value |
| -------- | -------------------------------- |
| **Name** | `BizMachine` |
| **URL** | `https://api.bizmachine.com/mcp` |

Claude warns you to use only connectors from sources you trust. BizMachine is your verified data source, so continue. Click **Add**.

![The Add custom connector window with the name BizMachine, the URL api.bizmachine.com/mcp and the Add button highlighted](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-579627152bc5e7edce522b5806713f37a2d41303%2Fconnecting-claude-admin-add-bizmachine.png?alt=media)

The BizMachine connector is now in the organization. Users continue with Part 2.

### Part 2 - for users: connect BizMachine to your account

Each user does this part on their own. The administrator must have added the connector first (Part 1).

#### 1. Find BizMachine in the connectors

In the left menu, open **Customize** and select **Connectors** (direct link: [claude.ai/customize/connectors](https://claude.ai/customize/connectors)). In the **Not connected** section, find **BizMachine** and click it. On the right, you will see "You are not connected to BizMachine yet." and the **Connect** button.

#### 2. Sign in to BizMachine

After you click **Connect**, the BizMachine sign-in page opens through OAuth 2.0. Sign in with your **Microsoft** or **Google** account. Use the same account you use to sign in to BizMachine.

![The BizMachine sign-in screen with the Microsoft and Google sign-in options](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-50b10a0f20b8af3f7704bf7e25e4c04c1fb7b354%2Fconnecting-claude-social-login.png?alt=media)

When you sign in for the first time, we may ask you to fill in your name and email. Once you confirm, BizMachine is connected to your account.

#### 3. Set the tool permissions (recommended)

After you connect, you can decide when Claude may use the BizMachine tools. Recommended settings:

* Set **Read-only tools** (reading data) to **Always allow**. Questions about companies and segments then run smoothly, without confirmation prompts.

![BizMachine connector permissions: the Read-only tools section set to Always allow](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e0cce0cd16f4b0ade3ee9d73c49387ce30d79b0d%2Fconnecting-claude-personal-read-tools.png?alt=media)

* Leave **Write/delete tools** (writing) on **Needs approval**. Claude then asks you before any change, for example before it writes a use case for AI Prioritization.

### Part 3 - how to use BizMachine in a chat

#### 1. Open the tools menu

In the chat, click **+** in the bottom left corner next to the message field.

![The Claude message field with the plus button in the bottom left corner](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-b4bda7dd9da8fa538d238a5598273aa7ba566f57%2Fconnecting-claude-chat-plus.png?alt=media)

#### 2. Turn on BizMachine

In the **Connectors** menu, turn on the toggle next to **BizMachine**.

![The Claude tools menu with Connectors selected and the BizMachine toggle turned on](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-2110b890a35b9993d77b7c9e3be4979b7cb75766%2Fconnecting-claude-chat-connectors.png?alt=media)

#### 3. Ask your question

Now you can ask about companies, segments or signals. Claude reads the data directly from your workspace.

![The Claude message field with a question about manufacturing companies in the Central Bohemia Region](https://247275268-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FYkl7SJ14Nk0vzhVx7upl%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6cbf0d599e10e7b53768ebfb815279c84cf5ba6d%2Fconnecting-claude-chat-question.png?alt=media)

Example question:

> Find energy-intensive mid-sized manufacturing companies in the Central Bohemia Region that have a foreign owner.

***

### How do I check that everything works?

Ask a simple question with the connector turned on, for example:

> Find the company Kofola in BizMachine and summarize what has changed at the company in the last quarter.

If Claude uses a BizMachine tool and returns structured data (signals, financials, technologies), everything is connected correctly. If Claude answers in general terms without using the tool, the connector is not turned on for that conversation (see Troubleshooting).

***

### Troubleshooting

**I don't see BizMachine in Connectors.** The organization administrator must add the connector first (Part 1). If they have just added it, reload the page.

**Claude asks for permission on every question.** Set **Read-only tools** to **Always allow** (Part 2, step 3). Reading data then runs without confirmation prompts.

**Claude answers in general terms and does not use the BizMachine data.** Check that the connector is turned on for that conversation (**+** -> **Connectors** -> **BizMachine**). An explicit instruction also helps, for example "use BizMachine".

**After a while, Claude asks me to sign in again.** The BizMachine sign-in has to be renewed from time to time. Confirm the sign-in again (Part 2, step 2).
