# WebTracks: overview of features and capabilities

Everything WebTracks does: identifying the companies that visit your website, segments, notifications, the link to Prospector, noise reduction and CRM.

*Updated: 7 October 2026*

WebTracks identifies the companies that visit your website, without cookies and without forms. Anonymous visitors turn into a specific list of companies that are interested in you right now. This article describes how WebTracks works, what you will find in it and how to work with it.

***

### How WebTracks identifies companies

WebTracks uses the visitor's **IP address and digital fingerprint**, not cookies. Because of this, it works even in environments where users refuse tracking, and it does not require cookie consent.

Tools of this type generally identify **10 to 30 percent of website visitors**. The rate depends mainly on where the visitors come from: companies with their own corporate IP address are identified better than employees on a provider's shared network. For websites with mostly B2B traffic from Western Europe or the USA, identification can exceed 50 percent.

WebTracks is optimized for capturing as many companies as possible, so it shows **companies from all over the world**. It is not limited to Czech companies with a Company ID. For a detailed profile of a specific company, including the Company ID, contacts and other data, we recommend switching to Prospector.

> **Note:** Because WebTracks is optimized for capture, inaccurate or older data may appear for some companies. For current and detailed information about companies, use Prospector.

### Installing the tracking code

Before you start seeing visitors, you need to add a **tracking code** generated for your domain to your website.

#### Installation steps

1. BizMachine generates a tracking code directly for your domain.
2. You deploy it on the pages where you want to identify visitors, typically the whole website.
3. Your website administrator or agency handles the installation. It takes a few minutes.
4. The recommended way to deploy it is through **Google Tag Manager**. It also works with WordPress, SolidPixels and other CMSs.

After the code is deployed, the first visitors appear **within a few hours**.

> **Tip:** The code does not affect the speed or functionality of your website.

### The overview of identified companies

After logging in to the WebTracks administration, you see a **list of companies** that have visited your website.

#### What the overview shows

| Information        | What it means                                                       |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Company**        | The identified company                                              |
| **Sessions (30d)** | How many times the company visited your website in the last 30 days |
| **Total time** | How long the company spent on your pages |
| **Last seen** | When the company last visited your website |
| **Location** | Approximate location derived from the IP address |

When you open a company in WebTracks, you see each session: where it came from, the page where it started, what was clicked and how long it lasted.

### Segments: priority groups of visitors

From all the identified companies you create **segments**: groups of companies filtered by the criteria you are interested in.

#### What segments are for

* Separate the relevant B2B companies from the rest of the traffic.
* Follow companies from a specific industry or region.
* Focus on the companies showing the most interest, for example those that visited your pricing or contact page.

Segments work as live filters. They automatically fill up with new companies that meet your conditions.

#### Tip: engaged visitors

Set up an "engaged visitors" segment: companies with **Time on Site** of **more than 60 seconds**. These visitors have shown clear interest and are the ones to look at first.

***

### Real-time notifications

For each segment, you can set up a **notification**: an email arrives as soon as a company from the segment visits your website.

#### Types of notifications

* Immediate : an email right after the visit (suitable for smaller volumes and priority segments)
* Daily digest : a summary of the past day

Your sales team then knows about an interested company before it moves on to a competitor.

### The link to Prospector

WebTracks and Prospector complement each other. The companies identified in WebTracks are automatically transferred to Prospector as **system labels** several times a day.

#### Available system labels

The label names contain the domain of your website and end with the country code, for example `cz`:

* **Webtracks - \[your website domain] - All time - cz**: all companies that have ever visited your website
* **Webtracks - \[your website domain] - Last 48 hours - cz**: the companies that visited your website in the last 48 hours

In the label detail, you also see the WebTracks data for each company: how many times it visited the website, which pages it viewed and how long it spent there.

#### What this makes possible

* You can open the full company profile: contacts, revenue, signals, custom indicators.
* You add the companies from WebTracks to a segment in Prospector and combine them with other filters (company size, industry, region).
* Your sales team then gets a ready-made list of the companies that have visited your website.

### Reducing noise

Not every website visit is relevant to your business. WebTracks offers tools to limit the noise as much as possible.

#### How to set up tracking strategically

Right at the start, think about:

* Which **specific pages or sections** of your website are the most valuable to you from the customer's point of view?
* Do you want to limit WebTracks to **certain countries** only?
* What do you want to follow yourself, and what does the sales team want to follow?

The more precisely you set up tracking from the start, the less noise you will have to deal with afterwards.

#### Blacklist

If noise does appear after all, start building a **Blacklist**: in the overview, delete the companies that bring you no value. Typically these are:

* your own employees and colleagues
* competitors and partners
* bots, crawlers and monitoring tools
* agencies or schools

BizMachine has a **ready-made list of keywords for the Blacklist**. Ask your customer team.

### Integration with CRM and other tools

#### Supported CRM systems

WebTracks can be connected to:

* **Salesforce**
* **HubSpot**
* **Pipedrive**

#### Google Analytics

WebTracks also works with Google Analytics. The company data can be linked with your web analytics.

***

### GDPR and data security

WebTracks is designed for the B2B environment and meets the requirements of the GDPR.

* It identifies **companies, not people**. It does not work with visitors' personal data.
* It does not use cookies and does not require tracking consent.
* All data is stored on servers in the **EU**.

### Who WebTracks is most useful for

#### Sales team

You know which companies are interested in your products or services before they get in touch. You see a specific reason for each one: they visited your website, viewed the pricing page or keep coming back.

#### Marketing team

Anonymous website traffic turns into specific data: which companies come, from which channels, to which pages. You tune your campaigns based on who they actually attract, and you check whether those companies match your ideal customer.

#### Account management

See when existing customers visit specific pages (the pricing of a higher plan, new products). It is a natural signal for a cross-sell or upsell conversation.

***

### Quick overview: what to do first

1. **Deploy the tracking code** on your website (your website administrator or agency).
2. **Wait a few hours.** The first companies start appearing on their own.
3. **Create a basic segment**, for example companies from your target industry or those that visited key pages.
4. **Turn on notifications** for this segment.
5. **Go to Prospector** and check the WebTracks labels. For the interesting companies, open the company profile and pass the company to your sales team.
